"I know for a fact it has been out on the wires that someone is in trouble & the ladies have put on a sidewalk/bake sale to donate the proceeds.

Here is the link to the benefit.

You know, first I just want to say that if you have ever been in trouble, in the last 8-10 years where any of us could see, and someone helped you out, Line was probably behind it. Either because she took care of it herself, arranged it outright, floated the right bee to the right person's bonnet, her mouth to God's ear, or -- let's be completely frank -- because she slagged on you so bad that another took pity & gave you a hand. So, that.

The other thing is that I got an email from one of the erstwhile, pink-satin-jacket-wearing hipmamas wanting the deets on WTF Crisis. She had heard of it on the grapevine -- mama ... in trouble ... m'aidez, m'aidez, which is always amazing to me, how the distress calls are always heard. It is second only to the amazement when the shit comes together, like a A-Team or whatever.

Anyway. The point is that I was explaining to Rizzo: the reason Jacob is cooling his heels in the county lockup instead of sprung on bail at home with his mother is because his bail was increased dramatically due to the presumed power of all of us and our willingness to help one of our own. (Apparently, the paper tiger with the axe to grind heard we were in the business of hiding fugitive teens? Dunno.)

And as I was crafting the email to old Stockard Channing, this all occurred to me, the irony. I was like, Wow! They've heard of us! Hey, don't ruin our reputation, ok? Thanks."

Link link link! Buy buy buy!!! WE HAVE A REP TO UPHOLD.
It's amazing! :)

Lots of libraries are losing Government funding and some are at risk of closure - so it really is a good deed! Also, if you pay Council Tax you're paying for this facility so you should be using it too!

I need 100 people to join up by 23rd March 2009...! So let me know if you do it!!
